Ornate Festive Horse

Decorate your own festive horse statuette which is loosely inspired by the traditional Swedish Dala horses. Typically carved from wood and painted red with various patterns and designs, our version will maintain the Dala horse’s simplified shape, but created with intricate details, using mixed media and colours associated with the holiday, such as red, yellow and gold. Let’s celebrate the colours of the Lunar New Year!

Welcome the new year with a handmade mixed-media Fai Chun. Fai Chun are the typically mass-produced good-luck and prosperity festive door hangings you might see a lot around Chinese New Year. Write out a CNY blessing with hand-drawn Chinese typography. Cut, paint, and decorate paper and card items to adorn your fai chun, such as your customised horse. Hang your unique 3D papercraft Fai Chun on your door to welcome in the new year!
