Bring your Wacky Rabbit from your imagination into reality. Construct a 3D, stylized rabbit of your own design. Develop your spatial awareness and colour matching sensibilities. Use a combination of patterned and textured textiles as well as acrylic paint to decorate your rabbit’s surface. Surprise yourself with the final outcome!

IN DRAMA…

Display your best acting skills through a dramatic retelling of The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Peter Rabbit and his siblings go to the forest to pick some delicious gooseberries, only to end up being chased by Mr Fox! Through pantomime, vocal animation, and characterization, act out the adventure of Peter Rabbit and co.

Join this character design workshop for a vintage illustration piece with a touch of period drama as we travel back in costume history. Take inspiration from archival photographs of people dressing up in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as famous clothed bunnies like Peter Rabbit. Use watercolour and linework to illustrate your animal character dressed up in stylized period clothing.

IN DRAMA…

Join Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter for an extraordinary tea party. You will travel down the rabbit hole in an abridged, dramatized retelling of Alice In Wonderland. Practice your narration skills and work on your expressive action abilities in this acting workshop.

Facilitator’s Profile : Originally from Belgium, Bernard Henin has a BA Sc degree of Applied Science (Biotechnology). After an international career serving science and internet-based companies in UK, he followed his passion and became a writer and an English teacher. Bernard now specialises in communication, having written STEM magazines aimed at children as well as non-fiction books in space science. Henin has hosted public speaking workshops at international schools and events throughout Hong Kong and UK. He is the project leader of CMW Speak Aloud & Creative Writing programmes.

Train your fine motor skills and eye for colour. Use papier mâché and an assortment of finely shredded paper to create a delicate, organically shaped nest. Decorate eggs to add to your nest as a finishing touch. Learn moulding techniques and practice playing with delicate materials.

IN DRAMA…

Our young performers of 4 – 6.5 yrs get to immerse themselves in the story of The Wind in the Willows. Explore the wonderful story of Mole, Ratty, Badger and Mr Toad and deliver a physical, energetic story. We will picnic on the riverbank, investigate the open road and even escape prison. Learn narrative pantomime and physical movement.

Our older performers aged 6.5 – 10 yrs are tasked with recreating the adventurous story of The Gruffalo, a children’s classic. Participate in this advanced platform of storytelling to expand themed creative characterisation skills and boost collaborative ensemble-building.

From blind contour drawing to O’Keeffe’s simplistic forms, our young painters will create a composition with a soft palette of spring hues.

Introducing CMW’s School of Drama! Come and attend a crash course of drama where each day will be dedicated to in-depth training of a performing arts skill that participants can bring to the stage. Our 3-morning programme will be split into juniors and advanced levels to give the most effective learning experience for all ages. This fantastic fast-paced workshop is guaranteed to boost self-confidence and push the imagination.

Junior Skills (4 – 6.5 yrs)  – Incorporate acting games, storytelling, and physical theatre to explore different animal characters using the theme of “Spring” as the inspiration of our creative play.

Advanced Skills (6.5 – 10 yrs) – Explore our space using music, props and stylised movement to devise; improvise, and experiment to create our own play over the course of the workshop.

This advance course starts with an intimate examination of a bold and dynamic flower using digital photography. The self-taken photo will be transcribed into an acrylic painting on wood with an emphasis on composition design and focal point, where the middle and background will be deliberately blurred for perspective and dramatic effects. The embellishment of dry pastel on acrylics will lastly render this art piece modernistic and stylized!

With a focus on establishing a writer’s habit and creating ideas through clustering, free writing and prompt, this fiction-writing workshop by creative writer Mark McPherson is designed for anyone who has an urge to write stories. With an introduction to story structure, character, conflict, setting and dialogue, participants will be guided from their initial ideas to a first draft. Ideal for lovers of words, books and storytelling!
